WITH SARAH HYDE
This 90 minute workshop is designed to help students manage anxiety and move stagnant energy and stress lodged in the root chakra. Located at the base of the spine and pelvic floor, the root chakra, or muladhara, is the seat of fight or flight, security, survival and human instinct. When the root chakra is out of balance, we may feel depleted, hopeless, ungrounded, anxious, or lonely, particularly if we are already prone to chronic anxiety and depression.
Sarah Hyde will guide students through a practice that moves through a vinyasa flow designed to unlock the root chakra and ends with final yin and restorative poses and an extended savasana. Mindful questions will be incorporated into the workshop so that students can reflect on their shifting emotions and thoughts before and after movement. Students are welcome to bring a notebook or journal, but pens and paper will be provided.
